Evening Arena Obstacle Practice

Want to get out of the house in the evening and do something fun with your horse? Have you been wanting to practice obstacles but are too busy on the weekends to ride our course? Come join us for monthly obstacle practices. (Obstacles will be switched up each month. 8-10 per evening. )

Adult Group Horsemanship with Tommy Fahey

Do you need to practice suppling exercises, turns, lead changes and improve your riding skill or your horses performance? And have some fun while you are at it?
Bring your horse and join us once a month from 7-9 for Adult Group Horsemanship coached by Tommy Fahey.
Cost: $40 per session
Limited to 4 riders per session.
This is NOT a series- rather indivual practice sessions- so you can sign up for just one, or several.

Led by Tommy Fahey who brings over 20 years of experience in the equine industry to Finnigan Farms Arena and Stable’s Working Equitation Coached Practice Session Series. Tommy’s diverse background makes him the perfect coach for this new sport to our local Equestrian Community. Tommy spent over 10 years as a professional equestrian performer in productions all across the US including: Cavalia, Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, Arabian Nights, and The Kentucky Horse Park’s Horses of the World. Along the way, Tommy developed a passion for Dressage and Liberty training. He has had the opportunities to work with outstanding trainers in these fields including: Kim and Yvonne Barteau of KYB Dressage, Dan James of Double Dan Horsemanship, Heidi Herriot of HorseTrix, Ariana Sakaris, Mary Rivers, Kelli Mardell, Matt McLaughlin, and many more. Tommy’s focus in training is to help develop better communication between human and horse, through communication comes understanding, and through understanding we can build stronger relationships with our equine companions.

Ride to Music Clinis with Michael Matson

Have you and your horse been working hard? Its time to come play, have fun, and connect-to music!  In individual sessions (times available all three days), Michael uses a metrnome to find your horses beats per minute at the walk, trot, canter/gallop. he then finds music from his extensive library that matches your horse's beat and plays songs until you find the music your horse will dance to. You can use the CD he burns you for later to recapture the dance experience on your own-or incorperate it into a competetion.

Cost $115 for an individual 60 minute session.

You MUST contact Finnigan Farms to register by July 6th. Please do this by sending a message through the Facebook page with your name and dividion. *Your horse can only compete in one division. If the same rider wants to compete twice, either in the same or seperate divisions, you must ride different horses.

Youth will start at 6. Once registration closes (and we see how many we have in each class) we will post start times for Novice and Open.

Stalls available by registration only $10. I'll provide shavings- you bring bucket for water and hay (if you choose)

Full Moon Obstacle Course Ride

Join us at Finnigan for a full moon nighttime obstacle course ride on Friday, July 27th.
Gates open at 7:30- Weenie Roast, baked beans, drinks and S'mores around the firepit from 7:30-8:30. Ride the course in the moonlight from 8:30-10:30.
Limited to 15 riders.
Cost $20
Preregistration and payment required
Make a night of it- 7 electric/water hookups available/stall available for additional cost

July Working Equitation Play Date

Come learn more about the sport of Working Equitation with a two hour workout to dressage exercises and a selection of WE obstacles.

Cost $40. Limited to 4 riders per two hour time slot: 1-3 or 3-5. 

Come early to tack and warm up-be ready to ride at the start of your time slot.

8 Obstacles. 3 tries per obstacle. For each obstacle completed you will recieve one card. Make your own hand with your best 5 cards. Jokers wild. 4 decks of cards in use. 
$25 entry fee.
Barn keeps $5. 
$10 goes into pot for highest hand. (See end of post)

Working Equitation Clinic with Rebecca Algar

Second and third in a series of clinics, coached practices and a schooling show to help you participate in the sport of Working Equitation. led by Rebecca Algar who brings a lifetime of expewrience to the Ozarks. She is a Working Equitation judge, trainer, and competitor. She studied in Germany under Gerhard Bock, former Olypic coach. She was selected for a 2 year scholarship in Spain under Joaquin Rodrigues.

Join us for a ONE day WE clinic which will cover a combo of WE dressage and WE obstacles practice with a chance to learn the different requirements of the various WE levels and recieve indivualized coaching. (Saturday and Sunday are SEPERATE clinics going over the SAME type of info. You MAY sign up  for both days for 4250 or just attend one day for $135.

Riding time 8-5 with one hour for lunch 9included)

Riding time followed by dinner and Q & A from 6-8:8- at arena owners home.

Limited to 8 participants per day. Stalls available for additional $10 per day. 7 elec/water hookups available on sire. Reserve earle-$25 per day.

Ranch Versatility with Jared Woody

This clinic will focus on the fundamentals of ranch horse versatility classes. Horses need to have walked, , trotted and loped on cue to participate. We will be working live cattle as well as a flag to help introduce riders and horses to cow work.
