To be eligible for buckle you MUST attend 3 out of the 4 shows.
Points are for the horse and rider team.
Points will be awarded as follows: 1st 10 points, 2nd 9points, 3rd 8 points, 4th 7 points, 5th 6 points, 6th 5 points and 1 point for participation if you do not place. Points are awarded in EVERY category, including speed. EXCEPTION: Costume class. 1st place 10 points, participation 5 points.
To allow less experienced riders a chance to win a ribbon, if you ride a walk/trot class in any division, that horse/rider combo MUST stay in walk/trot classes in every division for the entire show. (At the next show, if your horse has improved you can show in the walk/trot/canter class)
You may show in a single division; Youth, Adult or Open. OR you may show in both Youth/Open or Adult/Open. However, points earned in a particular division ONLY count for that division. (For example: If you ride in Youth equitation and get first and Open equitation and get sixth you will get 10 points toward Youth buckle and 5 points toward the Open buckle.) You may ride more than one horse in any class or division, but remember points accumulate for the horse rider pair ONLY.
Weather permitting: The obstacle course will be set up outside and have a separate Judge. It will be open from 11-3 and participants can ride it at anytime between those those hours. We will announce the winners before the speed events.
Judges reserve the right to combine classes if they are small to save time. However they will still judge/award ribbons for Youth, Adult, and Open within the combined class.
Judges will DQ participants who do not complete a pattern correctly.
Be saddled and ready to compete. Judge will not wait for participants- when your class is called, be ready to go.
